Here is a list of upcoming movies I would like to see in theatres. This doesn't mean I'm jumping to see them opening weekend. It just means I think they would be amazing fun to watch for me and some like-minded friends to enjoy on the big screen.
Am I talking about you? Hey, I might be talking about you! Check the list below, see if any of them tickle your fancy. Also, don't forget that February is Cineplex's annual film festival, with a chance to see some classics like
Let me know if you're up for a movie night in the near future!
XXX: Return of Xander Cage
Release date, January 20. Extreme athlete turned government operative comes out of self-imposed exile and on is a collision course with deadly alpha warrior Xiang and his team in a race to recover a sinister and seemingly unstoppable weapon. Sounds absolutely ridiculous. Looking forward to it!
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter
Release date, January 27. The human race's last hope against apocalyptic obliteration is super soldier Alice, but she's been stripped of her psychic powers. Paul W.S. Anderson is back to give us cheesy popcorn fun.
John Wick: Chapter 2
Release date, February 10. The continuing adventures of former hitman, John Wick. If you haven't yet, I highly recommend you watch the first film, current available on Netflix Canada.
The LEGO Batman Movie
Release date, February 10. The original LEGO movie was a much better film than a kid's cartoon and/or a glorified toy commercial had any right to be. Looking forward to more of the same, but with more Batman!
Logan
Release date, March 3. Standalone Wolverine movies have not been great. But I'm a comicbook nerd, and damn, that trailer was amazingly put together! Crossing my fingers that third time's the charm!
Kong: Skull Island
Release date, March 10. At least one of the trailers make the film out to be King Kong crossed with Apocalypse Now. It certainly can't be any worse than Jackson's three hour snooze fest.
Ghost In The Shell
Release date, March 31. The Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Based on the mind-blowing 1990s anime of the same name.
