I enjoyed making covers for the Rec.Arts.Creative.Comics newsgroup's comicbook-inspired written fiction series. It scratched a graphic-design itch that I didn't regularly get to scratch.
They were inspired by (or out-right parodies of) book covers, comic covers, album covers, and movie posters. When I was still running my Raccowrimo subsite, they added a necessary pop of color to the page content.
I don't take much credit for making these; many were derivative works from some talented artists at Deviant Art, Society 6, Getty Images, and other places online. I highly recommend you visit these sites and support your favourite artists!
And though I don't use these small images for any commercial purpose or financial gain - quite honestly, they are not really be used at all anymore - artists that have issues with their work being reworked can contact me, and the noted cover(s) will be removed.
