Rockabilly Record Sleeves

Last night, I went to the Albert with a couple friends. First time I had ever been there, and it really lived up to it's reputation of being a metal and punk bar. The concrete and tile floors, the stage covered in band stickers, the larger open space, the odd zig-zag shape of the place, it came together for a great jump-up-and-down-to-the-music atmosphere.

I was there to catch the Rockadoras, a local surf rockabilly band that a friend of mine played in. Also on stage that night were the Thrashers and the Noble Thiefs, the three bans putting together a War On Valentine's Day show. All three were fantastic, having a great sound.

I was recruited to man one of the merch tables for a good portion of the night, which I didn't mind as that meant I got to meet everyone coming in the door and the table had a good view of the stage. The other bands were also selling their wares, so I picked up some and was able to briefly table to them too. Between sets, I found someone had left a couple sharpies around and some discarded record sleeves...

These sleeves turned out to be kind of popular, actually. I guess it was a combination of the right canvas, the right subject, and the right audience. I ducked out of Albert after the show, but I didn't take them with me... who knows, they might still be there hanging on the wall :P
